Objectification of women in advertising in Sri Lanka

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the perception Sri Lankan female consumers towards objectification women in advertising and what are their ideas about brands that practice objectification.
 Design/methodology/approach: follows an inductive approach applies a qualitative research design. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection.
 Findings: Findings have shown perceive as “a portraying advertisements way social personal value undermined”. Even though there negative brand image, people still tend purchase product if it provides substantial money.
 Originality: Previous findings on use sexual been mixed inconsistent. A shift society, with presence sexually objectifying advertisements, has created need understand consumer attitudes make these current landscape Lanka.
 Implications: informs policymakers how implement appropriate policies strategies deal panic buying situations. Retailers can expertise effectively address various demand conditions without disrupting internal business practices.
